Bloom Space is a social media app with a simple premise: you should be able to share your life and stay close to your people without an attention machine in the middle.
Why we started
Every mainstream social app began as a way to keep up with people you care about and ended up as a way to keep you looking at a screen. Feeds got ranked for engagement, follower counts became scoreboards, ads learned everything about you, and the honest, small things — a photo for three friends, a thought meant for one side of your life — stopped feeling safe to post.
We wanted the first half back. Bloom Space is our attempt to rebuild social media around the parts that were always good: talking to your people, sharing what you made, finding a room where you belong. We started it in New Delhi in 2026 as Untechlabs LLP, and we launched on Android first because that is where most of the world — and most of India — actually is.
What we built
Instead of one feed, Bloom Space is six connected spaces. Personas let you keep work-you, friends-you and 2am-you in separate profiles inside one account. Sanctuaries are private, invite-only homes for your communities, with channels, threads, events and live voice rooms. Moments fade. Clips keep short video fun without a leaderboard. And Messages stay warm, honest and at a human pace.
How we make money
Not with your attention. Bloom Space runs no targeted advertising and never sells personal data. Instead, people can optionally buy Petals — an in-app currency — to unlock cosmetics such as profile layouts and extra persona slots, to tip creators and to join paid sanctuary memberships. Creators receive payouts from the tips and memberships their communities choose to give them. Our incentive is to make the app worth supporting, not worth staring at.
Where we are now
Bloom Space is live on Google Play and available in nine languages, with an iOS version in development. We are a small team, so we ship carefully, publish our policies in plain English and answer support email ourselves. If you want to help shape what comes next, the fastest way is to use the app and tell us what feels off.
What we believe
Privacy without paranoia
No targeted ads, no data brokers, no background location. We say plainly what is and isn't encrypted, and we never use your messages to train anything.
Communities need doors
The best places online have a threshold you cross on purpose. Sanctuaries are invite-only by default because welcome beats reach.
Humans in the loop
Real, trained reviewers handle every escalation. Automated systems never issue a permanent ban on their own. If we get it wrong, you can appeal to a person.
