Bloom Space is live on Android in India — here's what's inside

Bloom Space, the calmer social media app from a New Delhi team, is now free on Google Play in India and worldwide. A tour of personas, sanctuaries, moments, clips, voice rooms and messages — and what's coming next, including iOS.

Bloom Space is live. The app is free on Google Play, available in India and worldwide, in nine languages including English and Hindi. If you have been waiting for a social media app that does not treat your attention as the product, this is the tour.

Why Android and India first

We are a small team based in New Delhi, and we made two deliberate choices at launch. The first was Android, because that is where most of the world — and the overwhelming majority of India — actually is. The second was to build for India's rules from day one rather than retrofitting them: Bloom Space is designed around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, requires users in India to be 18 or older, and publishes a grievance contact alongside its privacy policy.

That does not make Bloom Space an India-only app. It makes it an app that started somewhere specific, with a team that answers its own support email, and grows outward from there.

What you get on day one

Personas

Up to four separate profiles inside one account — work-you, friends-you, hobby-you, 2am-you — each with its own name, look, followers and feed. Switch in a tap. Bloom Space never publicly links your personas to each other. Read about personas →

Sanctuaries

Private, invite-only community spaces with channels, threads, events, community rules and moderator roles. Perfect for a friend group that has outgrown the group chat, a class, a club, a fandom or a creator's supporters. Read about sanctuaries →

Moments

Photos and short videos that show up for a limited time and then fade. Replies arrive as private messages, so a moment becomes a conversation instead of a comment pile. Read about moments →

Clips

Short vertical video with captions, music, reposts and quotes — and without the scoreboard. No public follower counts, no infinite-scroll traps, and content controls that let you hide whole categories. Read about clips →

Voice rooms

Live, camera-free audio inside your sanctuary. Drop in, talk, leave. Recording is off unless the host turns it on, and everyone is told when they do. Read about voice rooms →

Messages

Text, photos, videos, files and voice notes. Screenshot notices in private chats. PIN-sealed conversations. No messages from strangers for teen accounts. Read about messages →

What you will not find

This list matters as much as the one above.

  • No targeted advertising, ever. Bloom Space runs no third-party ads and does not sell personal data.
  • No infinite-scroll traps, fake notifications or public follower counts. These are written into our app policy.
  • No background location. Precise location is only used when you tap a feature that needs it, and never for advertising.
  • No bot-only bans. Real, trained reviewers handle every escalation.

Safety, especially for younger users

Bloom Space is rated 12+ on Google Play and requires users to be at least 13 worldwide (18 in India). Accounts for ages 13–17 get extra protections by default: no messages from strangers, no in-app purchases, stricter content filters and reduced notifications. Our commitment on child safety is absolute — any content or behaviour that sexualises, endangers or exploits a minor is removed on sight and confirmed material is reported to NCMEC. The full statement is on the child safety page.

How Bloom Space makes money

Not with your attention. People can optionally buy Petals, an in-app currency, in fixed packs through Google Play. Petals pay for digital cosmetics such as profile layouts and extra persona slots, for tipping creators, and for paid sanctuary memberships. Creators receive payouts from the support their communities choose to give them. Every feature described on this page is free.

For creators

If you make things — videos, writing, music, teaching, anything — Bloom Space gives you a public persona for reach and a private sanctuary for the people who want more, with tips, memberships and payouts built in. Founding creators can claim an early spot and a first pick of their handle on the creators page.

What's next

  • iOS. In development. Join the waitlist and we will email you once, the moment it lands on the App Store.
  • More languages. The app already ships in English, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Hebrew and Thai.
  • Whatever you tell us. We are small, we ship carefully, and we read every support email ourselves.
